He built a number of flour mills throughout Australia, but the Bridgewater Mill is by far his most famous.
Situated on Mount Barker Road, the mill boasts an impressive working waterwheel which was built back in the mid 1800s. Dunn chose this particular spot for the mill because it was a prime hotspot for catching traffic that passed through the area.
In 1986, the mill was bought by a consortium that renovated it and integrated an award-winning winery into the building: Petaluma wines. Today, it is both a popular restaurant and a wine cellar, drawing in crowds looking for cultural pursuits in the Adelaide area.

Small and friendly group and driver. The paddle boat cruise was lovely to see the history of the Murray. Food was very enjoyable, definitely recommended the apple crumble for desert. We started at Mount lofty and unfortunately due to weather couldn't see much through the fog but that was OK. Finishing at Handrof was great and got to spend an hour there looking at some really cute stores. Just small considerations that one of the seats in the van faces the wrong way and that it was at times hard to hear the driver and his knowledge without a microphone

Lunch cruise average age 80. I assume that travellers come from aged care facilities by coach. Perhaps the group on the trip were by government vouchers to boost tourism? Not a mask in sight, crammed in like sardines, no open windows for any breeze. A haven for COVID for the elderly.

Very pleasant drive to the Murray. Generous time for morning tea and a look at Handorf on way back. Narrative on the boat very good as was our driver Symone’s, who drove excellently. A good day out
