As an experience, this deserves 5 stars but to be clear, this is an on water oyster tasting, not an oyster farm tour. I just feel that the name is a little confusing. We start out at the associated Oyster HQ, a restaurant right on the waterfront in the middle of Coffin Bay. Upon confirming your booking, you are handed a pair of waders, with inbuilt boots. You simply need to remove your footwear, pop on some socks (if you haven’t already) and climb into your waders. Lots of merriment here among the participants with “slimmer” people seeming to have less difficulty. But really, its all good fun and the team are helpful finding everyone the right size. It’s then down to the beach for a brief history lesson on the exploration of the region by Matthew Flinders, then it’s a waddle out to “Saltwater Pavilion” through knee to waist deep water. The Pavillon is a sturdy aluminium pontoon structure situation about 50 meters from the shore. Pre-ordered drinks are served and our hosts begin a very informative and entertaining talk about the history of Oyster farming in the area, development, progress, markets etc etc. They demonstrate the correct way to shuck an oyster and then you can try your hand. Everyone receives 4 oysters but you can, and we did, pre-order more. Fresh lemon and Tabasco sauce are provided. There’s lots of time for any questions to be asked & answered and photos taken. It’s a fantastic experience, very unique and very entertaining.

Joe and Shane ( our tour guides) were just lovely. They were helpful and knowledgeable. We had 4 freshly shucked oysters to taste while Shane told us about the oyster industry. Would recommend this tour.

Was such an experience. The boat ride out to the Oyster Farm was very pleasant. And to put on waders and experience what it would be like was amazing. Our tour guide was was so knowledgeable it was brilliant. The fresh Oysters were so fresh just the best. Even with Tabasco, Green Tabasco and Wasabi or plain. Hubby even ate some. Recommend to any one even if you don't eat oyster. just enjoy the rest of the experience 10/10

You simply need to do this - even if you’re not an oyster lover they’ll cater for you - as it’s such a real Aussie adventure. The local oyster farmers even pioneered this way of growing oysters and sold the French on it! Step into a pair of waders and out of your comfort zone as the staff are just great and the tour is easy as. Thanks Rebecca and Nora - you two rock ✅👍👏

We recently did the oyster farm tour. We had so much fun even though it rained most of the time. Learnt how to shuck oysters, whilst also enjoying tastings and a bottle of wine. We also booked lunch after which was delicious. A must do.

Highly recommend doing the oyster tour. We had Nathan and Tom as our guides who were very friendly and informative. We were extremely lucky to be the only two people on the tour. Enjoy walking out in your waders and sitting on the deck with feet in the water. Besides getting to taste the best oysters you will learn heaps. We returned next night for a very good meal , sitting on the deck and enjoying the best of Coffin Bay.

Going on an oyster tasting experience was always something I had looked forward to. Arriving when the Coffin Bay oysters were unavailable was, to say the least, disappointing. BUT the tour went ahead with oysters from elsewhere which were absolutely delicious. Dressed in waders we crossed the the bay to our special pavilion where oysters and beverages were waiting for us. Cameron and Shiino were outstanding tour leaders - Cameron informed us with lots of interesting info and Shiino provided to oysters and drinks. They created a relaxed and friendly tone for our oyster experience. I would absolutely recommend tis tour to anyone who loves oysters. Those who don't, well... they don't know what they are missing out on.

Since there is a slot for 12:00pm, we booked it but when we went there, the lady in red lipstick said with attitude that “ can you see we are so busy, that booking we cannot maintain. It’s wrong, you can come back at 2:30pm or you cancel your booking”.we already planned out everything for the day as it is our last day in port Lincoln. This screwed up our plan for the day big time. We are treated very badly. This lady and the place forget that they make their living from the tourists. Horrible attitude and hospitality😡 I don’t know about others but we had very bad experience. It really churns my stomach just thinking about it😡😡
